Kevin Colpoys

Kevin Colpoys was born in Niagara Falls, New York and raised on Cayuga Island in the upper Niagara River. After graduation from LaSalle HS he went on the receive a BS in Education from SUC at Brockport and a MS from SUC at Buffalo while teaching elementary school in Niagara Falls. Mr. Colpoys moved across NY to pursue further education in reading and administration at SUNY Albany and Syracuse University. His career, spanning thirty-six years in NY, included being a teacher, Reading Coordinator K-12, Elementary and Secondary Principal, Superintendent and District Superintendent of Schools. Retiring in June 2000, Mr. Colpoys returned to education in the Victory Charter Schools in NY as Regional Director and in Fl as Founding Principal of the Cape Coral Charter School. Currently, Mr. Colpoys spends most of his time as a volunteer with the Municpal Charter School system as member of the Governing Board and as Executive Director of the Municipal Charter School Foundation. Mr. Colpoys initiated the K-Kids program at Oasis through the Harney Point Kiwanis Club and when not on these tasks enjoys life with wife Kathleen and son William, a student at Oasis Elementary Charter School. The family enjoys boating and traveling! |

I am a retired school teacher/ career specialist from the Miami Dade County Public School System.My husband Ed and I moved to Cape Coral in 2005. We have two children (Cameron and Pamela) that presently reside in Miami. We enjoy volunteering for several organizations including the Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife. We love the quietness of the west coast and slower pace compared to a larger city like Miami. We enjoy traveling when time allows.

Resident since 1982 when her husband retired from the Army. As a military wife, I have lived in six states and two foreign countries (Turkey and Saudi Arabia); but enjoys life here as the best of all possible worlds.
